Terms & Other Policies 

Privacy.  We keep your name, phone number, credit card information, and email address private and do not share them with any unrelated 3^rd party except as necessary to complete and fulfill your order. 

MAP.  What is MAP?  MAP means “Minimum Advertised Price and is set by the manufacturer.  The manufacturer and our suppliers do not permit us to advertise a price lower than the MAP price.  All authorized dealers need to abide by the MAP requirements.  MAP pricing is product specific and all products do not have MAP requirements.   

Security.  Once you click on “Check out” you are redirected to our secure ordering process.  This area is encrypted and protected with the best encryption software in the industry SSL.  SSL technology employs the latest 128-bit encryption with the information you send when placing an order.  The information is encrypted on the computer, sent through the internet as jumbled code, and decoded on a secure server.  It cannot be read in transit.  Our SSL certificate is on our website.  Our credit card company is compliant with association security initiatives.  Our ordering system does not store your name, personal information, or your credit card number on the internet.  When you enter your information, it is encrypted and sent to our ordering system on a server separated from the internet.  We use the latest encryption methods whenever you are entering your account or personal data.  Your information is protected from unauthorized access.  

Back Orders.  BackCountry GPS will usually notify you by email within 48 hours if an item is out of stock.  If you don’t want to wait, you may cancel your order and receive a prompt refund by calling our toll-free customer service number, (303) 662-0656 or by emailing us at: lonetreetrading@comcast.net.  If we do not hear from you before we ship the merchandise to you, we will assume that you have agreed to this shipment delay.  Remember, if you want the merchandise, don’t call.  We will ship the backordered item as soon as it becomes available.  If we are unable to ship the merchandise within 30 days or less, we will cancel your order and you will receive a prompt refund.

Warranty/Return Policy.  BackCountry GPS offers a return period of 20 days from the date of receipt.  Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) numbers are required for all returns.  Returned products must be complete in the original packaging and resalable.  Special Order items may not be returned.  Opened and/or unsealed DVDs. CDs, and  cartography are not returnable unless defective.

To obtain an RMA number, please send an e-mail to lonetreetrading@comcast.net or call 303-662-0656 (Customer Service) and have the following information available:  original invoice number, product being returned, and the reason for return.  If you need to leave a message, please also provide your name and phone number.

Units requiring service, either warranty or otherwise, should be returned directly to the appropriate manufacturer.

Returned merchandise may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 15%; please use the contact us link below or contact the Customer Service Department at lonetreetrading@comcast.net or call 303-662-0656 for details. 

Disclaimer.  BackCountry GPS attempts to provide accurate information regarding products, specifications and images.  We are not perfect 100% of the time.  We cannot be responsible for incorrect information due to typographical, picture, or specification errors received by our suppliers or made by BackCountry GPS.  We appreciate your understanding when errors ocur.  In the event that an error is discovered as a result of an incorrect price from such an error, we reserve the right to refuse or cancel the order.  In the event the transaction has been processed by our merchant account, an immediate credit will be issues and you will be contacted.  Prices may change at any time.

Sales Tax.  While we do business throughout the United States, we are required to collect sales tax on orders within the states of Colorado and New Jersey.  Sales tax will be charged on invoices for orders from or shipments to Colorado and New Jersey.

NOTICE TO DRIVERS PURCHASING GPS SYSTEMS.   Some state laws prohibit drivers from having suction mounts on the windshields of an operating motor vehicle.  Alternatives to windshield suction mounts are dashboard mounts.  Backcountry GPS is not responsible for any fines, penalties or damages that may result from drivers using suction mounts where state laws prohibit such.
