ORDERS

Add to Cart – To purchase a product, click “add to cart”.  When finished shopping, you can go to checkout.  Quantities of items can be changed on the first screen of he check out. 

Shipping: We ship primarily through UPS and DHL for express shipments.  UPS shipments are based on total weight and is rounded up to the next nearest pound.  The checkout will estimate the weight based on purchase and calculate shipping based on total weight for shipments within the continental United States.  Please contact us at customerservice@backcountrygps.com for information on Hawaii, Alaska and international shipping rates.   Our goal is to ship orders within two business days of receiving the order.   We ship packages to the address typed in on the order, so be sure that the information entered is accurate.   

International Shipping – Please contact us for international shipping rates.  Important:  The customer is responsible for paying all taxes, fees, and import duties upon receipt of the shipment.   

Refusing the shipment will result in the customer being charged for all shipping charges and fees, including return shipping fees. Shipping to an address that different from your billing address may delay your order as we work to verify the shipping address.  The billing phone number must match what is on file with your credit card company.  This protects you as well as us.   

We reserve the right to cancel any order for which we cannot properly verify the credit card information. We only ship to physical addresses.  No P.O. Boxes. 

We reserve the right to use alternate shipping companies, including Federal Express, DHL, and the US Postal Service.   Most items are shipped within two business days.  We cannot guarantee that a package will arrive on time.  This is solely the responsibility of the carrier and can be impacted by things such as weather, strikes, natural disasters.  If your shipment does not arrive when it is supposed to, please remember this is out of our control. If a package is refused or non-deliverable, for any reason, the customer will be charged for the shipping fee, plus any applicable return shipping fees.   

Policies / Notes:  For security and protection the following shipping policies apply to orders shipped inside the US.  All next day air shipments are sent "signature required".  All high value shipments are sent "signature required".  High value items (over $500.) may only be shipped to the credit card's billing address unless an alternate address is added on file with your credit card company.  Please call us if you have questions.

We cannot specify for UPS to leave a box at your house if you are not home.  It is up to the driver's discretion.  We ask that you leave a note for the UPS driver if you will not be home when your shipment arrives.  All Packages shipped via UPS, DHL, FedEx or USPS are subject to the Terms and Conditions of the specific carrier used. 

Back Orders.  BackCountry GPS will usually notify you by email within 48 hours if an item is out of stock.  If you don’t want to wait, you may cancel your order and receive a prompt refund by calling our toll-free customer service number, (303) 662-0656 or by emailing us at through the contact us form or e-mail to lonetreetrading@comcast.net.  If we do not hear from you before we ship the merchandise to you, we will assume that you have agreed to this shipment delay. Remember, if you want the merchandise, don’t call.  We will ship the backordered item as soon as it becomes available.  If we are unable to ship the merchandise within 30 days or less, we will cancel your order and you will receive a prompt refund. 

Warranty/Return Policy.  BackCountry GPS offers a return period of 20 days from the date of receipt.  

Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) numbers are required for all returns.  Returned products must be complete in the original packaging and resalable.  Special Order items may not be returned.  Opened and/or unsealed DVDs. CDs, and cartography are not returnable unless defective.  

To obtain an RMA number, please use the contact us form or send an e-mail to lonetreetrading@comcast.net or call 303-662-0656 (Customer Service) and have the following information available:  original invoice number, product being returned, and the reason for return.  If you need to leave a message, please also provide your name and phone number.

Units requiring service, either warranty or otherwise, should be returned directly to the appropriate manufacturer.

Returned merchandise may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 15%; please contact the Customer Service Department at lonetreetrading@comcast.net or call 303-662-0656 for details.  

Sales Tax.  While we do business throughout the United States, we are required to collect sales tax on orders within the states of Colorado and New Jersey.  Sales tax will be charged on invoices for orders from or shipments to Colorado and New Jersey. 

NOTICE TO DRIVERS PURCHASING GPS SYSTEMS.  Some state laws prohibit drivers from having suction mounts on the windshields of an operating motor vehicle.  Alternatives to windshield suction mounts are dashboard mounts.  Backcountry GPS is not responsible for any fines, penalties or damages that may result from drivers using suction mounts where state laws prohibit such. 

PRIVACY & SECURITY

 PRIVACY OF PERSONAL INFORMATION. We keep your name, phone number, credit card information, and email address private and do not share them with any unrelated 3^rd party except as necessary to complete and fulfill your order.   

PRIVACY STATEMENT.  For each visitor to our Web page, our Web server automatically recognizes no information regarding the domain or e-mail address. We collect the e-mail address of those who communicate with us via e-mail, aggregate information on what pages consumers access or visit, user specific information on what pages consumers access or visit and information volunteered by the consumer, such as survey information and/or site registrations.  The information we collect is used for internal review and is then discarded, used to improve the content of our Web page, used to customize the content and/or layout of our page for individual consumer and used by us to contact consumers for marketing purposes.  If you do not want to receive e-mail from us in the future, please let us know by sending an e-mail, calling or writing, and telling us that you do not want to receive e-mail from our company.  

SECURITY.  Once you click on “Check out” you are redirected to our secure ordering process.  This area is encrypted and protected with the best encryption software in the industry SSL.  SSL technology employs the latest 128-bit encryption with the information you send when placing an order.  The information is encrypted on the computer, sent through the internet as jumbled code, and decoded on a secure server.  It cannot be read in transit.  Our SSL certificate is on our website.  Our credit card company is compliant with association security initiatives.  Our ordering system does not store your name, personal information, or your credit card number on the internet.  When you enter your information, it is encrypted and sent to our ordering system on a server separated from the internet.  We use the latest encryption methods whenever you are entering your account or personal data.  Your information is protected from unauthorized access.   

Disclaimer.  BackCountry GPS attempts to provide accurate information regarding products, specifications and images.  We are not perfect 100% of the time.  We cannot be responsible for incorrect information due to typographical, picture, or specification errors received by our suppliers or made by BackCountry GPS.  We appreciate your understanding when errors occur.  In the event that an error is discovered as a result of an incorrect price from such an error, we reserve the right to refuse or cancel the order.  In the event the transaction has been processed by our merchant account, an immediate credit will be issues and you will be contacted.  Prices may change at any time.  

TERMS OF USE STATEMENT.  You understand and agree that the owners of this site shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or exemplary damages, including but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, data or other intangible losses (even if the owners of this site have been advised of the possibility of such damages), resulting from the use or the inability to use the product(s) and or service(s) or any misuse of the product(s) and or service(s) in a manner not in accordance with their intended use.
